1) The picture above was taken near Turangi, North Island, Aotearoa (land of the long white cloud). The English name for Aotearoa is New Zealand.

2) Legend holds that the shape of New Zealand is that of a fish (North Island) being captured by the demi-god Maui (half man-half God, the Maori version of Hercules...) who is safely on his canoe (South Island). Check it out for yourself (the fish's head is the Wellington area):
