Here I reserve a comment for all the people I am lucky enough to call friends, in this jungle of a city (Baltimore).

From LAB.

Swati Mehta: As chivalry requires, women first. An excellent friend has she been, with unimaginable patience for listening (and smiling) to any thing I had to tell her. And also because she can make even the most boring courses very entertaining...

Viktor Gruev: Now, of course, if I write here too that Viktor is the LADIES' MAN, women are really going to start think he is... How much do I get for publicity? Yet when I've needed to confide in someone and to understand what lurks in our minds, he was always there to help. So I guess that makes us even?

Matt Clapp: Many a good conversation can be held with Matt. Unfortunately, we often see things in a very similar way and therefore don't get a different angle on situations. But then again, the more, the merrier. Matt is also my guide in my journeys through the English language, often satisfying my thirst for knowledge on the origins of the language. And sometimes it's nice to display ingenuity in knowing Latin roots ;-) To understand the .wav, go to swati.

Zi Rong Xu: My never-resting friend, always there for technical advice and helping me get a grip on the world with his pseudo-cynicism. Now he will be leaving to follow his vocation for radiology... And medicine is the paradoxical science for antonomasia as it requires great love mixed with some cynicism.

Mark Nesky: This is another good friend that will be missed, going to work to southern Maryland... Many a good time have we shared together, in waking up at 4 in the morning to tape U2 from the computer... that's what happens in putting together hi-tech and rock group hype. Don't disappear when you reach Columbia!

From Soccer:

Carolina Diaz-Bonilla: lives up to her country's fame (Argentina) in this category, no doubt. I will have to admit she is the best female soccer player I've ever played with. When she's not too busy she's also a great friend and person to be with in general (when she's busy you feel guilty ;-).

Marco Sirianni: The great soccer mailer, known for his defending skills throughout the globe: for example, the Pink Floyd song "The Wall" is dedicated to him. Poi si viene a scoprire che ha fatto il Marinelli e aveva Guttilla come prof di matematica... it's a small world after all... ed e' bello che poi ci ritroviamo tutti.

Marco Chiaberge: il giocatore della leva calcistica classe 1968, ha il difetto di tifare Juve ma, as they say, nobody's perfect...

Tim Alce: great and unexpected adventures have we had in this contradictory country, where we have exploited it's advantages (Bibelot going out of business sale... ;-) and gotten rid of the disadvantages (no soccer to see on TV? Then let's play it!). He probably is the last British Knight.
